New Bedford – Elaine A. (Fischer) Johnson, 91, died at home on April 4, 2010. She was the widow of James Johnson.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Laura (Pigeon) Fischer, and resided in New Bedford most of her life. She was a member of the Plainville Christian Church. She enjoyed crocheting and was a member of the Willy Wonka Crafts Club at the Plainville Christian Church.
Survivors include 4 daughters: Janice Butler, Diane Medeiros, Helen Brown and Christine Croteau; 5 sons: Arthur Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Thomas Johnson, Maurice Johnson and Ralph Johnson; 27 grandchildren: 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. She was mother of the late James “Sonny” Johnson, Jr. and Harry Johnson and grandmother of the late Jesse Guerra.

Funeral services at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, April 9, 2010.
