Methuen, MA – Irene (Dubay) Zisk, 93, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday April 4, 2010 at Windham Terrace in Windham, NH where she had been a resident for the past two years.
Irene was born in Hamlin, Maine the daughter of Vivian and Emma (Levasseur) Dubay. She came to Lawrence as a child where she received her education.
A resident of Methuen for more than fifty years, she was a well known seamstress and dressmaker in Methuen and for more than 15 years had been employed with Malden Mills before retiring.
Mrs. Zisk was a communicant of Saint Monica’s Church. She had been a member of the Julien Stopyra Post, and was active at the Methuen Senior Citizens Center. Irene enjoyed traveling, the theatre, ballet and dancing and was especially fond of animals.
The widow of Chester D. Zisk Irene is survived by children;Cheryl R. Zisk of Methuen, Donna M. and her husband Warren E. Towne of Derry, NH. one sister; Mildred Morris of Florida, and two grandchildren Warren C. Towne of Troy, NY, and Amanda B. Towne of Hamden, CT. She was predeceased by her son Robert R. Zisk as well as three sisters and four brothers. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, Ma.
Friends will be warmly received on Thursday morning from 7:45 A.M. – 8:45 A.M.from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
