Obituary

Matt C. Williamson, 90, of Windham, NH died Saturday April 3, 2010 at Windham Terrace. Mr. Williamson was born in New York City, NY on August 23, 1919, son of the late Preston I. and Eda (Taylor) Williamson. He had resided in Windham for the past eight years, formerly living in Londonderry, NH and Delaware. He was a US Army veteran having served during WWII. Retiring as an electrical engineer, he had worked for several companies internationally. Mr. Williamson was a longtime member of St. Mark's Masonic Lodge #44 F & AM in Derry and a member of the IBEW for most of his professional life. He was also a member of the Londonderry Presbyterian Church in Londonderry for many years.
He is survived by two sons, Robert E. Williamson of Rockville, MD, Paul I. Williamson of Iverness, FL, one daughter, Lee P. Betts of Londonderry, six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and three nieces. He was predeceased in 1988 by his wife, Ruth (Lewin) Williamson.
Following cremation, a calling hour was held on Saturday April 10, 2010 from 3 - 4pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A funeral service followed at 4:00pm including a Masonic ritual and military honors. Private burial will be at a later date in the NH Veteran's Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
