Obituary

Salem: Georgette S. (Cormier) Ouellette, age 82, died Friday, April 2, 2010, at the Lafayette Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility in Marblehead. She was the wife of the late Edward A. Ouellette, with whom she had shared 53 years of marriage.

Born in Concord, NH and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Alphee and Jeannette (Marcotte) Cormier. During World War II, Georgette worked for the former CBS Hytron and later for Sylvania. After leaving Sylvania, she did residential domestic work for several families in the greater Salem area. She was a member of the former St. Joseph Parish of Salem for many years.

She is survived by a sister, Gloria Y. Daly of Peabody, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Always close to her “Eddie’s family, she is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Leo and Lorraine Ouellette of Chicopee, Andre and Louise Ouellette of North Adams, Irene Breault, Gerard and Laura LeBlanc all of Salem, Helen Bouchard of Michigan. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Raymond Cormier and Dolores Dumas.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday at 9 a.m. to be followed by her funeral mass in St. James Church, Federal St., Salem at 10 a.m. Visiting hours: Wednesday 5 to 9 p.m. Burial will be private.
