Obituary

Salem: Elizabeth (Boucher) Bishop, age 88 of Salem, died Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the Cedar Glen Nursing Home in Danvers. She was the loving wife of the late Norman E. Bishop, with whom she had shared 64 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late George and Alma (Petit) Boucher. As a young woman and into the war years, she was employed by the CBS Hytron and later for Sylvania. Married in 1941, Betty was devoted to her husband, children and her extended family. She possessed a special joy and pride in both her family and her church. A deeply religious woman, she was a long time member of Ste. Anne Parish of Salem.

She is survived by daughter, Patricia V. Rozumek and her husband Dennis of Middleton, 3 sons, Norman H. Bishop and his wife Catherine LaFauci-Bishop of Tewksbury, William J. Bishop and his wife Louise of Middleton, Robert G. Bishop and his wife Janet of Salem, 9 grandchildren, Douglas & Mark Melanson, Karen Mosman, John Bishop, Shannon Greene, Jason Tremblay, Kayla, Madeline & Sophia Bishop, 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was predeceased by her grandson David Rozumek, 2 sisters, Emma Brusso & Ida LaRoche and a brother, Henry Boucher.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Tuesday at 8 a.m., April 6, 2010, to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, Salem at 9 a.m. Visiting hours in the funeral home: Monday 4 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Ste. Anne Church Renovation Fund, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
