Edward A. Thompson, age 85, of Stonington, passed away Wednesday at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Josephine (Brewer) Thompson and the late Edith (Crabbe) Thompson.
He was born on November 22, 1924 the son of Arthur and Mary (Cooper) Thompson. After receiving his education, he served in the U.S. Navy.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an Industrial Arts teacher in the E. Lyme Public School System and later as a Driver's Ed instructor at Grass Tech.
His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Monday from 5-7pm. His family will gather privately for burial with military honors at Union Cemetery, Niantic.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Diabetes Assoc., Alzheimer's Assoc., or American Heart Assoc.
