Obituary

Sister Marion Feeney (formerly Sister M. Finbarr), 87, a Sister of Mercy for 60 years, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at Warde Health Center in Windham, New Hampshire.

A native of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of Peter and Nora (Sullivan) Feeney.

Sister Marion received her B.A. degree in education from Mount St. Mary College in Hooksett, New Hampshire. For many years she taught in Catholic schools throughout New Hampshire. She was a teacher at St. Raphael and St. Joseph Schools in Manchester; St. Mary in Dover; St. Patrick in Portsmouth; St. Mary in Franklin; and St. Joseph in Keene.
Sister Marion also served as school secretary at St. Mary Star of the Sea School in East Boston, Massachusetts, and at St. Mary Academy in Dover, New Hampshire.

Family members include a nephew, Robert Wiley, and his wife, Rebecca, of Portsmouth, N.H.; many cousins in the United States and Ireland; and a special cousin, Catherine Dienne Thomas, of Birmingham, England. She was predeceased by her sister, Alice Feeney Buckley, and brother-in-law, Justin Buckley, of Portsmouth.

Friends may call at the Warde Health Center, 21 Searles Road, Windham, New Hampshire, Monday, April 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel at the Warde Health Center. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH.
