Anne G. “Sissy” (Mahoney) Trudel, 84 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Monday afternoon at Radius Northwood Health Care Center. She was the widow of the late Richard W. Trudel who died in 2000.
Born in Lowell on November 16, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Timothy and Anna (O’Regan) Mahoney and received her education in the Lowell schools.
For many years, Mrs. Trudel worked as a stitcher for the Nu Knit Corporation in Lowell. She was also an Elder Advocate for Community Teamwork in Lowell as she drove seniors to their various appointments in the area. Mrs. Trudel was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church and a member of the League of Catholic Woman. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 662 in Lowell and the Lowell Senior Center. Mrs. Trudel loved to read and play bingo and enjoyed camping only because she was able to spend precious time with her loving grandchildren who called her “Me-Me”.
She is survived by two daughters, Jo-Ann Marotte of Nashua,NH and Brenda Fell and her husband Timothy of Litchfield, NH; two sons, Richard W. Trudel Jr. and his wife Barbara of Dracut and Joseph E. Trudel and his wife Ann of Lowell; eight grandchildren, Kimberly Trudel, R.J. Trudel and his wife Christina , Jarod Trudel and his wife Kasia, Timothy, Michael and Meghan Marotte, Nicole and T.J. Fell; two great grandchildren, Andrew and Joshua Trudel; a brother, Joseph Mahoney and his wife Patricia of Lowell and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Trudel was also the sister of the late Mary Allaby, John Mahoney, Kevin Mahoney, and Gerald Mahoney.
TRUDEL- Relatives and friends may call on Monday, April 5 from 3 until 7 pm at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH STREET, (Rte.38). Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday April 6 at 10 am at St. Michael’s Church followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Michael’s Parish, 543 Bridge Street, Lowell, MA 01850. Arrangements are by the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, LOWELL.
