Tetreault, Philodore A. of Hingham, formerly of Centerville, died on Monday, March 29, 2010 at the age of 91. Husband of the late Jeanne I. ( Caouette) Tetreault. Loving father of Judy Tetreault Murphy and her husband David of Hingham. Brother of Jean Paul Tetreault of New Bedford. Cherished Pepérè to Richard "Chip" Toomey and his wife Sarah of CT, Shannon E. Toomey and her spouse Becky Kellerhouse of NY, J. Regan Toomey and his wife Kelly of CT, Maureen M. O'Hanley of Hingham, Ellen J. Dengler and her husband Billy of NJ and the late Ann Murphy. Loving great grandfather of Coleman, Harper, Keene, Beth, Tom, Willie, Johnny D. and Gracie. Phil is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Born in New Bedford, Philodore graduated from New Bedford High School and went on to Mass College of Pharmacy where he received his degree. A Pharmacist by trade, he had 45 years of service with the McKesson Corp. as a sales representative covering Cape Cod and the Islands. A young tennis champion, Phil enjoyed playing golf, the Red Sox, reading, playing bridge and listening to music. Past President of the Traveling Men’s Association, Chapter President of AARP, Past President of Our Lady of Victory Church Men’s Club in Centerville, founding member of Cummaquid Golf Course on Cape Cod. Phil will be remembered as a devoted family man who cherished his time with his family. A devout Catholic, he volunteered for years at a local food kitchen and lived a life of service to others. He will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have had him in their lives.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation in St. Paul's Church, 147 North St., Hingham on Monday, April 5, from 11AM to 12 Noon.
His funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 noon following the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Phil may be made to the Hingham Interfaith Food Pantry, 685 Main St. Hingham, MA 02043 or to St. Vincent de Paul Society c/o St. Paul's Church, 147 North St. Hingham, MA 02043.
Burial will be private at a later date.
