OBITUARY
Fitchburg
Charles Frederick Ogilvie, 87, died Sunday March 28, at Health Alliance
Leominster Hospital.
"Charlie" was born in Boston, April 27, 1922, the son of Nelson and Ruby A.
(McDonell) Ogilvie. He has lived in Fitchburg since 1924. He attended local
schools and graduated from Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a Army
veteran of WW ll serving from 1942 to 1945 and served in Central Europe,
Normandy, and Rhineland.
Charles was a truck driver for Branch Motor Express for 25 years retiring in
1982. He was a member of Christ Church, a lifetime member of the
Eastwood Club, a member of the Charles W. Moore Lodge of Masons for
over 50 years and a member of local 170 Teamsters Union and the Union
Retirees of Worcester.
Charles leaves his sons Donald N. Ogilvie of Fitchburg and Michael C.
Ogilvie of Westfield. His daughters Betty Jane Fasshauer of Orange City,
Fl., Norma Jean Hamel of Leominster and Marcia A. Goguen of Fitchburg.
He also leaves his sister Carolyn Ogilvie of Fitchburg, eleven grandchildren
and eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Charles' wife of 64 years Lafay (Ward) Ogilvie died April 13, 2007. His sister
Marion Austin died in October, 2009 and a grandchild Dyann Kirouac died
in 2006.
A graveside servive for Charles will be held on Friday April 9 at 11:00 A.M.
in North Cemetery, Lunenburg. There are no calling hours. Contributions in
his name may be made to Local 170 Teamsters Scholarship Fund 805
