Obituary

John S. "Jack" Keane, 60 of Walpole died Sunday, March 28, 2010 at his home.

Born in Boston on December 30, 1949, he was the son of the late John & Mary (Cogavin) Keane.

Mr. Keane grew up in Jamaica Plain and graduated from Cathedral High School in Boston.

Mr. Keane was a retired Army verteran and served during the Persian Gulf War and later in the Military Police Investigation Unit.

After his retirement from the Army, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 10 years.

He was the father of the late John "Justin" Keane of Columbus, GA.

He is survived by two sisters, Maureen Dwyer of Walpole and Nancy Campbell and her husband, Peter of Duxbury and his nieces and nephews, John, Daniel and Shannon Dwyer, all of Walpole and Heather and Jennifer Campbell, both of Duxbury.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, John J. Keane Jr. and Trenton M. Keane, both of Columbus, GA, his former wife, Loretta Zieverink of Columbus and his step-son, Joe Ashmore of Columbus.

His funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 5 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St. (Rte. 3A) in Duxbury.

Burial will take place at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 1:15 p.m.
