Herman A. Kirchgessner age 97 of E. Peoria IL, passed away at 9:15pm Sunday March 28, 2010 at Rosewood Health Care in E. Peoria. He was born Dec. 18, 1912 in Partridge Twp. Woodford County Il. to Charles and Theresa (Gilles) Kirchgessner.
Surviving are one brother Harold (Catherine) Kirchgessner of Metamora. One niece Linda (Bob) Murphy and one nephew Dennis (Iris) Kirchgessner. Herman was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Marie (Dan) Tullis.
He worked at Caterpillar for 22 years, then purchased a farm in Quincy Il, area and farmed close to 30 years. He also worked for the railroad and later moved to the E. Peoria area. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metmora.
A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am Thursday April 1, 2010 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora with Fr. Don Roszkowski officiating. His visitation will be from 9:00am until
service time at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials can be made to St. Mary’s Church.
