TEWKSBURY - Robert J. Turcotte, age 69, a former executive for Wang, died Wednesdaymorning, Oct. 15, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, after an 11 year battle withcancer. He was the husband of Mary E. (Benoit) Turcotte, with whom he had celebrated a 46thwedding anniversary this past June 15th.
He was born in Lowell, June 10, 1934, a son of the late Felix and Blanche (Gervais) Turcotte. Hehad been a resident of Tewksbury for the last 43 years.
He was a veteran of the Submarine Corps of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was employed as the Director of Facilities for Wang Laboratories in Tewksbury and Lowell. Most recently, he worked part time for the Tewksbury Transit Company.
Mr. Turcotte was an avid golfer, and enjoyed motorhome travel throughout the United States.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen M. and his wifeGerilyn (Coupe) Turcotte, and Robert M. Turcotte all of Lowell; a daughter and son-in-law,Jeanne M. and her husband Ronald Dorazio of Lowell; seven grandchildren, Heather, Mark,Matthew, Corrine and Jamie Turcotte, Timothy and Danielle Dorazio; one great grandson, RionTurcotte-Crear; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Roger and his wife Margaret (Harper)Turcotte of Pelham, NH, Armand Turcotte of Fla., Daniel Turcotte of Salem, NH, David and hiswife Claudia (Gertig) Turcotte of Lowell; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and her husbandLeon Bousquet of Pelham, NH, Lorraine and her husband Richard Hebert of Fla; and manybrothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
His FuneralMass was held Saturday, Oct. 18, at in St. William’s Church. Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery.
