Obituary

Russell M. Wilson, 64, of Loudon died March 27, 2010 at the E.N. Rogers Memorial VA Hospital in Bedford, MA.
Born in Concord, NH on September 5, 1945, he was the son of Leo H. and Elaine (Pease) Wilson. He graduated Penacook High School in 1963 and earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Franklin Pierce College.
In 1965, Russell enlisted in the US Navy and served as a Corpsman (E-4) in Vietnam prior to his honorable discharge in 1969. He was awarded the Purple Heart after sustaining injuries in the battle at Kason.
Prior to retirement several years ago, he was proud to be employed as a veterans advocate in the NH Division of Employment Security in Manchester.
He loved reading, gardening, animals and spending time outdoors. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and uncle who cherished the time spent with family and serving his country.
Family members include his wife of 22 years, Susan (Elliott) Wilson of Loudon; one son, Ryan Wilson of Manchester; one daughter, Reagan Wilson of Manchester.
He also leaves his brother, Vernon L. Wilson and his wife Susan M. Wilson of Loudon; two nephews, Marty and Heath Wilson and four nieces, Danielle, Catherine, Christine and Jacqueline Bourque. He was predeceased by his sister Lisa Marie (Wilson) Bourque in 1997.
The funeral service and burial with military honors took place Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.
