WORCESTER___ Robert (Bob) Michael Zinkevich, January 1942-March 2010. Bob died suddenly at home during his courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Waltham, MA., and lived most of his life as a Worcester resident. He graduated from St. John’s High School, spent four years abroad with the U.S. Navy and graduated from Worcester Technical Institute. He was a retired electrician from IBEW, Local 96, a caring husband and devoted father to all his children.
Bob’s greatest treasure in his life was his family and, during his illness, the grandchildren always made him smile. He will forever be remembered in the thoughts of his beloved family. He leaves his wife of 45 years, Eleanor (Dillon); his brother, Basil Antoinne; his daughter, Melissa and granddaughter, Fiona; his son, Mark, and wife, Lori and granddaughter, Dakota; his son, Brian, and wife, Kelley, and grandchildren, Xavier, Caroline, Max and Joey.
Bob touched the lives of many people with his generosity and maintained a giving heart throughout his life. We will miss him dearly. He liked to keep life simple and in honor of this attitude there will be no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at 11:30 am in St. John’s Church, 40 Temple St. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorial donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105. Arrangements are under the care of DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St.
