Obituary

NEWCOM, JAMES CLORE, 89, of Louisville, passed away at his home Thursday, March 25, 2010.

He was a retired Sgt. 1st Class U. S. Army veteran where he served for 27 years, having served in the Medcore units during World War II, Ko- rea, and Vietnam Wars.

He was a retired employee of L.G.&E., a member of VFW Post #1181, Scottish Rite, and Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Anna Elisabeth (Ebert) Newcom.

Survivors include his seven children, Helen Breslin (Tim), James K. Newcom, Gary Newcom (Sondra), Lucia McGuffin (Bruce), Marilyn Newton, Carolyn Baisas (Dominic), and Mary Ann Hannah (Steve); 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; his sisters, Gwen Hayes, Betty Quinn, and Barbara Kelly, and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 7718 Columbine Drive with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 1 8 p.m. Sunday at the Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Hwy.
