WORCESTER-Carol A. (Hansen) Hehir, 71, of Worcester, died Thursday, March 25th in Golden Living Center-Hermitage after a courageous battle with leukemia. Her husband, Robert T. Hehir, died in 1972. She leaves a son, Robert P. Hehir of Auburn; four daughters, Colleen A. Nickerson and her husband Robert of Auburn, Susan M. Bradley, Sandra L. “Buffy” Hehir, and Laurie A. Hehir, all of Worcester; two brothers, Leonard Hansen of Oxford and Paul Hansen of Worcester; a sister, June Solomon of Worcester; five grandchildren, James Greene, Thomas O’Connell, Jr., Shannon O’Connell, Garrett Hehir, and MacKenzie Hehir; several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son, Paul Hehir, and her siblings, William Hansen, Pauline Merriam, Corinne Kleczka, Marilyn McIntire, Marie Richardson, and Joan Young.
She was born in Auburn, the daughter of Eno and Stella (Faford) Hansen and graduated from Auburn High School, where she played field hockey and was Captain of the cheerleading squad. Carol cherished her children and grandchildren and enjoyed every moment she spent with them. She enjoyed trips to Hampton Beach.
The funeral is Monday, March 29th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Auburn. A calling hour is from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. Monday in the funeral home.
