William Oliver, Jr., 81, of N. Dartmouth died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Rhode Island Hospital. He was the husband of Janina A. (Hopp) Oliver.
Born in Westport, son of the late William and Anna (Souza) Oliver, he had lived in Dartmouth for over 50 years. Prior to retirement, he had worked for the former Grundy’s Lumber in Westport for over 25 years. Mr. Oliver enjoyed gardening, the outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren.
Including his wife, he is survived by a son: William J. Oliver of New Bedford; 3 daughters: Lynne A. Medeiros of Dartmouth, Karen A. Jeronymo of New Bedford and Janice A. Burke of Portsmouth, RI; 2 sisters: Clara Catarino of Dartmouth and Katherine Boutin of Fairhaven; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late Helen Soares, Larry Oliver, Frank Oliver, Marion Medeiros, Edward Oliver and George Oliver.
