Obituary

Richard R. Esper of Walpole, formerly of Norwood, passed away on March 26, 2010. He was 75 years old. Born and raised in Norwood, Dick served in the Signal Corps of the United States Marine Corps in Okinawa, Japan during the 1950's. Upon his return, he worked selling tools as a road salesman. He later worked at Sears, Roebuck & Co. and Lechmere Sales. Dick began his teaching career in 1971. He taught grade 5 at the Prescott School in Norwood for 17 years and grade 6 at the Jr. High School for 7 years until his retirement in 1995.

Dick took up golf in his 50's. He was an avid golfer and a member of Walpole Country Club, where he achieved 2 holes-in-one and was named "Legendary Senior" of 2009.

Dick was the dear and devoted husband of Theresa M. Souza Esper. Dear brother of Charles Esper of FL, George Esper of MI, Catherine Moseley of Norwood, Marion Corcoran of Walpole, Alice Kelley of Norwood, Florence Esper of Norwood, and the late Frances Esper and Freda Franciosi. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Dick's Funeral Service was held Monday, March 29, 2010 at St. George Orthodox Church in Norwood.

Interment concluded services at Highland Cemetery in Norwood.
