Obituary

Methuen, MA – Frederick V. “Sonny” Fulciniti, 84, of Methuen died Thursday March 25, 2010 at the Caritas Holy Family Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born in Brooklyn, NY December 8, 1925 he was the son of Domenico and Rose (Albanese) Fulciniti. Fred was a graduate of Haverhill High School Class of “1943”.
During world war II while serving his country in the United States Army Sonny was wounded in action while fighting Germany and as a result was the recipient of the purple heart. He was a member of the Garibaldi Club of Haverhill, MA and enjoyed playing three cushion billiards at the Cue and Cushion in Hooksett, NH. He loved crossword puzzles and up to the time of his illness could do the NY Times crossword puzzle in ink. He also enjoyed visiting Florida.
He was retired from the Internal Revenue Service in Andover where he worked for over 35 years.
Frederick was a Communicant of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish.
He will be deeply missed by his daughter Lyn and her husband Roger M. Collins, Sr. of Manchester, NH; his brothers in law, Carmine DeMonaco and his wife Cil and Joseph DeMonaco, and Dutchy Perillo; special friends George and Barbara Vinceguerra, Benny Parker, and George Saliba, his “granddogs” Axle, Lucky, and Brady, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (DeMonaco) Fulciniti with whom he shared 45 years of marriage, and his sister Frances (Fulciniti) Salvo.
Special thanks to the staff of Russell Hall at Cartitas Holy Family Hospital for the unsurpassed care and comfort during his hospitalization.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock in Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish/St. Theresa Church 22 Plymouth Street in Methuen with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
Friends will be warmly received on Monday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
