Edward M. Travis, age 63, of Wareham and formerly Fall River, passed away March 25, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Nancy L. (Gancarski) Travis and the son of the late John S. and Rose (Michael) Travis, Jr. Ed retired in 2009 as a Racing Inspector for the MA State Racing Commission. He was a Viet Nam veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a former member of the Fall River County Club, and a parishioner of Holy Name Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his 2 children: Mark E. and his wife Jennifer (Kostka) Travis and Lisa and her husband Jeremy Irish, all of Wareham; 2 brothers: Richard Travis of Jacksonville, FL and Michael L. Travis of San Antonio, TX; 2 loving granddaughters: Sofia Rose Irish and Addysen Paige Travis, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
Ed loved spending time with his family and dogs. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and following the Red Sox, Celtics and NY Giants.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. TUESDAY at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours MONDAY 4 - 8 P.M.
