Obituary

Josephine A. Janowski, Olyphant, died Wednesday morning at home. She was the widow of Walter Janow-ski, who died in 1986.

Born in Jessup, she was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church, Olyphant, and was employed in the garment industry before her retirement.

The family would like to express its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the nurses and staff of Mercy Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Josephine.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Janowski, with whom she resided; and a sister, Mary Yagelski, Scranton.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Walter Janowski III; three sisters, Stella Budnovitch, Frances Chmiel and Blanch Lindenmuth; and four brothers, John, Michael, James and Peter Meka.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Parish, St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant, to be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Muldowney. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, Blakely.
