Joseph C. Felmey, 83, of Washington passed away at 2pm Tues March 23rd, 2010 at Toulon Rehab and Health Care Center in Toulon.
He was born on Feb 2, 1927 in Winfield, PA the son of Palmer P and Estella D Hendricks Felmey. He married Charlotte M Naylor in June of 1948.
Surviving are two sons Curtis Felmey of Peoria and Todd Felmey of Eureka; four daughters Cynthia Ackerson of Washington, Deborah Felmey of East Peoria, JoAnne Wayland of Low Point and Cheryl Krizman of Normal. He is further survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren as well as one sister Martha Walters of Northumberland, Pa.
Joseph was an honorably discharged Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an independent insurance agent representing several agencies. After his retirement from insurance he then worked for the Washington Park District. He was a member of Washington Christian Church.
Cremation rites have been accorded with private memorial services scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in his name to Toulon Rehab and Health Care Center. Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is in charge of arrangements.
