Obituary

Flanagan, William Joseph of Winchester, died on March 22, 2010 lovingly surrounded by his family. He was the son of the late Martin and Anna Flanagan of Somerville, MA. Survived by his wife Clare (Stanton) and their five children, William of Malden, Joseph and his wife Beth of Westford, Robert and his wife MaryJean of Nashua, NH, Jane and her husband Richard of Brookline, and Ann and her husband Stuart of Westford. Predeceased in death by his daughter, Clare. Loving grandfather of Robert and Lauren Flanagan of Nashua NH, Joseph, Alexander, and Kathleen Flanagan of Westford, and Scott, Eric, and Clare McCord of Westford. Brother of Theresa Sheehan of Tucson, AZ, Paul of Venice, FL, Leo of Dover MA and Naples FL and the late Mary of Somerville, MA and Richard, of York, ME and Naples, FL. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A two-year veteran of the United States Army, he graduated in 1954 from the Boston College Carroll School of Management. He was a lifetime employee and Turbine Engine, Generator and Gears Manager at General Electric in Lynn, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday March 26th in St. Eulalia’s Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, MA at 10 AM. Interment in Wildwood Cemetery, Winchester, MA followed by a celebration of his life at the Woburn Country Club, 5 Country Club Road, Woburn, MA. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to University Advancement, More Hall, Boston College, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467.
