Obituary

Roger Jacques, 78, of Manchester died March 21, 2010 at a Bedford healthcare facility after a short illness.
He was born in Manchester on March 31, 1931, the son of Romeo and Jeanette (Masse) Jacques. He was a member of the NH National Guard and fought in the US Army during the Korean War.
Prior to retirement, Roger worked for Louis P. Cote Incorporated in Goffstown. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. He was both a member and later a volunteer as a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America for over 25 years. He also enjoyed motorcycles, racing cars, cooking and was on a bowling team with all of his brothers.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was always the life of the party.
Roger was predeceased by his brothers Gerald and Donald Jacques, both of Manchester.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Pauline (Veillette) Jacques of Manchester; one son, Robbie Jacques of Manchester; two brothers, Roland Jacques Sr. of Newton, GA and Maurice Jacques of Manchester; sister-in-laws, Paulette and Doris Jacques of Manchester and Linda Jacques of Atlanta, GA; one brother-in-law, Lionel Veillette of Hooksett; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A service was held Thursday, March 25, 2010 in the funeral home chapel. Burial with military honors followed in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
