Obituary

Daniel Lee Zentz, of Plympton, March 19, 2010. He was 63 years old. Daniel graduated from E. Bridgewater High School in 1964 and from Bridgewater State College in 1968. He is an Air Force veteran and served in Vietnam for one year, while in Vietnam he taught English to Vietnamese pilots. Daniel was an avid boater, and enjoyed spending time on his boat “TISMINE 2”. He was a member of Green Harbor Tuna Club in Marshfield for 30+ years, and participated with the Special Olympics for many years. Daniel was a civil war history buff, and enjoyed driving his 1954 DeSoto convertible to West Island in Fairhaven to visit, and party with friends. He ran Dan Zentz Auto Service in E. Bridgewater for over 16 years, and worked at Upper Cape Technical School in Bourne for over 20 years as an automotive teacher and then lead teacher department head. He was a member of Fred Bates Post 91 American legion, and a two time past commander. He was also a member of DeSoto Club of America (1954 DeSoto Firedome), and of the Upland Club in Plympton.
Beloved husband of over 20 years to Sandra (Allsopp) Zentz. Loving father of Jane Baldassini and her husband Ken of Middleboro, Melissa Farrelly and her husband Dave of Plympton, and Jeremy D. Zentz of Middleboro. Son of Dwight K. and Agnes (Hunt) Zentz. Brother of Timothy and Phillip Zentz and their spouses, both of E. Bridgewater, and Lu Post, Rachel Zentz, Jamie Riordon, Marion Black, and their spouses. Grandfather of Jessica and Jill Baldassini, Glen McLachlan, and Ciara Farrelly. Special brother in law and friend to Alan and Barbara Allsopp of Plympton, and Pat and Jack Hines of Dorchester. He is also survived by his ex wife Linda Kuehn of Middleboro, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 23rd from 4-7:00PM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St. (Rt. 106) Kingston. A funeral service will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 24th at 11:00AM. Internment will be at the Hillcrest cemetery in Plympton.
