Obituary

WORCESTER___Frank Westerlind, 83, of Worcester died Thursday, March 18, in his home with his family at his side. His wife, Vera (Repekta) Westerlind died in 2005.

He is survived by four sons, Frank Jr. and his wife, Linda, Philip and his wife, Pamela, Stephen and his wife, Chris and John and his wife, Anita, all of Worcester; two daughters, Donna Bruce and her husband, Robert, of Worcester and Sandra Griggs of Millbury; a sister, Shirley Boomhower of Naples, FL., seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester a son of Frank W. and Mary (Zalinski) Westerlind and lived here all his life.

Mr. Westerlind worked many years for the City of Worcester, Department of Sanitation prior to retiring. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII serving as a Corporal. He was a member of Vernon Hill Post 435, American Legion. Frank will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his family and friends.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 23, from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Church, 40 Temple St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Monday, March 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA Care Network, 120 Thomas St., Worcester, MA, 01608.
