Obituary

Worcester - William J. Atchue, 71, of 31 First Street died Sunday January 20 in his home after an illness.

He leaves his wife of 49 years Marilyn J.(McTigue) Atchue of Worcester; two sons William M. Atchue of Auburn and Michael T. Atchue of Whittinsville; two brothers Norman Atchue of Shrewsbury and Charles Atchue of North Grafton; three sisters Shirley Demas of Auburn, Muriel Wheeler of Grafton, and Ellen Sweet of Hudson; 3 grandsons and several nieces and nephews. He was born in North Grafton son of William and Irene (Lee) Atchue.

He served in Army National Guard for 47 years retiring as a Warrant Officer.

Mr. Atchue worked as an Amdministrative Technician for the Army National Guard for over 20 years.

He was a member of Notre Dame des Canadiens Church where he was also a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of the Civil War Roundtable.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday January 23 from the Alfred Roy and Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with a mass at 10 AM in Notre Dame des Canadiens Church 5 Salem Square. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetary. Calling Hours are on Tuesday January 22 from 6 to 9 PM in the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Notre Dame des Canadiens Church Renovation Fund 5 Whitman Road Worcester MA 01609.
