Louis Richard Vachon, 78, of Mattapoisett died March 18, 2010 at New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital after a long illness.
He was the husband of Angelina J. (Cedrone) Vachon.
Born in Newton, MA, the son of the late Edward and Rose (Forgeron) Vachon, he lived in Newton most of his life summering 46 years in Mattapoisett. He relocated to Mattapoisett in 2002.
Mr. Vachon was formerly employed as an electrical engineer for ITek for over 50 years until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife; 4 sons, Stephen J. Vachon and his wife Tracey and Michael J. Vachon and his wife Laura, all of Mashpee, John T. Vachon and his wife Susan of Lakeville and Robert J. Vachon and his wife Dee of Amesbury; 12 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late David Vachon and Edward Vachon.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 22nd at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home For Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday, March 21st from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Salvation Army, 33 Myrtle St., Waltham, MA 02453.
