Rev. John H. Ford, age 87, of Water Valley, MS died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at his home. He was born June 9, 1922 in Philadelphia, MS to the late Welman and Ella Rogers Ford, and served as a Corporal in the United States Army during WWII. He was the Minister and Pastor of First United Pentecostal Church in Water Valley, MS.
Visitation will be held in the Appleton Room of Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 18, 2010. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 19, 2010 at First United Pentecostal Church in Water Valley with Rev. James Sandy presiding. Burial will take place at First United Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Willie P. Ford, of Water Valley, MS; four daughters: Jean Bounds of Southaven, MS; Nancey Hine of Water Valley; Linda Gray of Horn Lake, MS, and Anne St. John of Southaven, MS; two sons: John W. Ford of Sardis, MS and James M. Ford of Collierville, TN; a sister, Rene Nowell of Louisville, MS; a brother, Walter Reed of Preston, MS; ten grandchildren: Pam, Debbie, Rebekah, James, Drew, Lisa, John W., Randy, Jennye, and Jessica; eight great grandchildren: Courtney, Hayden, Lucie, Aaron, Alendria, Kyle, Tiffany, and Nic; and three great-great grandchildren: Bryleigh, Eli and Chris.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie Ford and a grandson, Dewayne Bounds.
