Charlene Jones, 71, of Creve Coeur, IL passed away at 5:20am Tuesday March 16th 2010 at Fondulac Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in East Peoria.
Charlene was born on Dec. 12, 1938 in Jacksonville, IL the daughter of Francis and Ruth Edmonds Todd. She married Gordon C. Jones on June 8, 1958.
Surviving are her four children Diana L. Thompson of Katy, TX, Marlin (Dawn) Jones of Gloucester, VA., Martin (Patty) Jones of Morton, IL., and Mary (Ken) Theis of Bradford, IL. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, one great grandchild as well as two sisters Mary Alice Todd of Galesburg, and Leona Brady of Peoria. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one grandchild.
Charlene was self employed most of her life and last worked for the Peoria Journal Star. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Creve Coeur, IL. She was a woman of strong Christian faith and family values, and her greatest contribution was to her children and grandchildren.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Creve Coeur, 425 Rusche St., Creve Coeur on Friday Mar. 19th at 11am. Memorials may be given in her name to the First Baptist Church of Creve Coeur or to Peoria Rescue Ministries.
