EUGENE M. ELMORE, 79, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010.
He was a retired employee of the Regional Airport Authority, a member of American Legion Shawnee Post 193, Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church (St. Denis Campus), an Army veteran of the Korean War, and an avid U of K fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Elmore, and his parents, Joe and Josephine Elmore.
Survivors include his children, Terry Parrish (Butch Hendren), Mike Elmore, Jeff Elmore (Jenny), and John Elmore (Lisa); eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren, with a new one on the way; and his devoted friend, Evelyn “Sis” Streble.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday at Mary Queen of Peace (St. Denis Campus), 4205 Cane Run Road, with burial in St. Michael Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
