Fernande “Fern” N. (Beland) Joynt, 72 years old, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died Monday evening at Radius-Northwood Health Care Center in Lowell. She was the widow of the late Everett G. Joynt who died in 1997.
Born in Lowell on January 29, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Jeanne (Cadorette) Beland, and received her education in the Lowell schools graduating from St. Joseph’s High School.
For over 30 years, Mrs. Joynt worked as a clerk in the Department of Public Works for the City of Lowell. She was a member of A.A.R.P. and an avid card player. Mrs. Joynt was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.
She is survived by two daughters and a son in law, Kathleen J. Joynt of Lowell and Maureen Marx and her husband Dan of Mendham, N.J.; a granddaughter, Casey Marx; a brother in law, John W. Joynt of Lowell and several nieces, nephews and many special friends at Radius-Northwood.
Mrs. Joynt was also the sister of the late Paul Beland.
JOYNT- Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, March 18th from 7 until 9 pm at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST. (Rte.38). Her Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, March 19th at 9:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
