Obituary

FALL RIVER- Michele Orlando, 72, of Westport, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Manuela (Miranda) Orlando. Michele was born in Salerno, Italy, son of the late Vicenzo and Rosa (Romano) Orlando.

He came to the United States in 1960 and one of his proudest moments was when he became a United States Citizen in 1989. He was a self employed contractor and a parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport. He was a member of the St. John’s Club of Fall River and a past member of the Holy Ghost Club of Westport. Michele enjoyed the outdoors but mostly spending time with his family who will miss him very much.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his three daughters: Rosemarie Neto and her husband Gualberto of Westport, Gina Orlando and her husband Robert of Swansea and Michelle Orlando and her husband Everett of Westport; 4 grandchildren: Bianca Carreiro and her husband Joshua, Damian Neto, Evan Manchester and Abigail Medeiros; 1 great granddaughter: Haylee Carreiro; A brother Elia of Italy and sister Maria of Brazil. He is also survived by his brother-in-law (Compadre) Daniel Viveiros who was with him always. He is also predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be Friday, March 19, 2010 at 9:00 A.M. from the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Road, Westport followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.

Calling hours will be Thursday 5-8 P.M.
