Wayne M. Altman, 56, of New Bedford died March 12, 2010 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Jeanne A. (Desjeunes) Altman of New Bedford and the late Thomas Altman, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Wayne was employed as a commercial fisherman on several vessels of the New Bedford fleet.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a ham radio operator.
Survivors include his mother; a son, Wayne Altman of Rhode Island; a brother, Robert Desjeunes of New Bedford; 4 sisters, Prudence Goyette, Donna Manning and Cookie Altman, all of New Bedford, Robin Sherman of Rochester; many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late George and Achiel Altman.
His Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 20th at 10 AM in St. Lawrence Church. Arrangements are with the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
