Obituary

Eric G. Fredrickson, age 81, passed away March 13, 2010 in Fall River. He was the beloved husband of Judith A. (Woyciechouski) Fredrickson. He was born in Quincy, MA and the son of the late Gideon G. and Vilma A (Salminen) Fredrickson. He had resided in Fall River since 1972.

Mr. Fredrickson was employed as a manager of Steppingstone, Inc. from 1972 to 1977; was a counselor at C.A.P. (SSTAR) from 1977 to 1980 and from 1980 to 1991 he was employed at N.E.B.C.O.A., Inc. as a manager, then director and was the executive director at the time of his retirement in 1991. He continued to work as a part-time substance abuse counselor at the Fall River Alcoholism Council, Inc. for approximately 5 years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post 0464.

Besides his wife, he leaves two sons: Eric M. Fredrickson (wife Tricia) of Raynham, MA and Steven L. Fredrickson (wife Paula) of Denton, TX; three daughters: Laura Black (husband James) and Nancy Pettinato, both of Middleboro, MA; Cynthia Place of Carver, MA; two step-daughters: Debra A. O’Neil (husband Liam F.) of Lakeville, MA and Lori A. Mathieu of E. Greenwich, RI; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter. He was also the grandfather of the late David Pettinato.

The family wishes to thank the Highlander Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care and compassion.

Private funeral services and burial with military honors will take place in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Arrangements are under the direction of the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME of Fall River, MA.
