Florence G. (Nye) Neuwinger, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, died on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the North End Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Boston following a lengthy illness. She was 76 years old.
Florence was born in Boston on November 30, 1933. She grew up in Charlestown and attended Boston Public Schools. Florence was a homemaker most of her adult life taking care of her family.
Florence is the beloved wife of 57 years to Frank Neuwinger. She is the devoted mother of Frank P. "Pokey" Neuwinger and his wife Camille of Everett, Joyce Mansfield and her husband Henry of Charlestown and Geraldine Dellascio and her husband Edward of Columbus, Georgia. She is the loving grandmother of 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Edith Reardon of Stoughton, Robert Nye of Everett, Jerry Nye of Charlestown, the late George Nye, Ralph Nye and Edna Nye.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours for Florence on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from 4 to 8 p.m. followed by her Funeral Service at 8 p.m. in the Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Cremation will take place on Wednesday, March 17, 2010.
