Obituary

Mr. Norman C. Tardie, Sr, 95,a lifelong resident of Lawrence and a Retired Lawrence Firefighter passed away today, March 12th, 2010 on his birthday at the Prescott House Nursing Home in North Andover, MA.

He was born on March 12th, 1915 in Lawrence to the late Joseph and Mary (Daly) Tardie. Mr. Tardie was educated in Saint Rita's Grammar School, Saint Mary's Grammar School and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Prior to working for the Lawrence Fire Department he worked both in the Portsmouth and the Boston Naval Yards.

Mr. Tardie worked as a Lawrence Firefighter for Engine #7, for some 33 years until his retirement in 1980.

Mr. Tardie and his wife enjoyed entering into exhibits at the state fairs with his pride carvings of Birds and animals. He also entered Slate Work and Stain Glass work. Mr. Tardie enjoyed camping in the New York State area and in the Canadian Maritimes.

Husband of the late: Claire (O'Riordan) Tardie who passed in 1996.

Family members include:

His son: Norman C. Tardie, Jr. and his wife Jacqueline
of North Andover, MA.

His grandchildren: Scott and his wife Amy Tardie of Lawrence, MA.
Peter and his wife Musetta of W. Newbury, MA

His great grandchildren: Christina and Christopher Tardie
As well as several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother to the late Joseph, Louis Tardie and Mrs. Jerome (Madeline) Donovan.

His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 16th, 2010 at 12:00 noon in the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA.

Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
