Obituary



Frederick P. “Fred” O’Connor 78 years old, of Brockton died Wednesday March 10, 2010 at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center after a period of failing health. Mr. O’Connor was born in Boston and raised in Stoneham a son of the late Frank and Lucy (Kerrigan) O’Connor. He had lived in Brockton since 1982 and previously resided on Holbrook for many years. Mr. O’Connor had been a machinist in the tool & die industry for several years.
During the Korean Conflict Mr. O’Connor served in the US Air Force and was a member of the DAV. Fred had been a well known resident of the Belair Towers where he was involved on the Meals -on- Wheels program.
He is survived by his children Mary O’Connor-Jean, Edward Quinn, Patrick Quinn, Frederick O’Connor, Jr. and Daniel O’Connor. He was the brother of Robert O’Connor of Randolph and the late John, Thomas and William O’Connor, Ruth Burns, Helen McNeeley and Mary Garnett. He also leaves many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 4-8 pm. Graveside service with military honors will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne Tuesday at 10:45am. Donations in Fred’s name may be made to Disabled American Veterans 940 Belmont Street, Room A230 Brockton, MA 02301.
