Salem: Gloria F. (Bedard) Tkachuk, age 91 of Salem, died unexpectedly, Thursday, March 11, 2010 at the NSMC / Salem Hospital. She was the devoted wife of the late John P. Tkachuk.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Alfred H. and Amanda (Berube) Bedard. Over the years, Gloria has worked for several companies, including CBS Hytron, Sylvania and Shetland Signal Mfg. Co. all of Salem. A gracious and welcoming woman, she was the receptionist for the Salem Hospital Medical Building, 79 Highland Ave. for the last 8 years of employment. Gloria was a member of Ste. Anne Parish and the Catholic Women’s League.
She is survived by 2 sons, John L. Tachuk and his wife Joy B. of Salem and David P. Tkachuk and his wife Nancy E. of Burnham, ME, 3 brothers, Norman Bedard, Alfred H. Bedard, Jr. & Albert A. ‘Sonny’ Bedard all of Salem. 7 grandchildren, J. Peter, Anne, Michael & Tiffany Tachuk, Lisa Durand, Scott & Stephen Tkachuk, 3 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Laurent ‘Larry’ Bedard.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Monday, March 15, 2010 at 8 a.m. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem, to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste.
