Obituary

TAUNTON – Antone R. Andrade, husband of Javina B. “Elsie” (Barber) Andrade, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center on March 9, 2010.
He was 93.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late John and Maria (Rose) Andrade.
Raised and educated in Taunton, Mr. Andrade later served in the U.S. Army during WW II, and fought with the Cannon Company of the 410th Infantry.
He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.
Employed as an annealer by the former Leach & Garner Co. for over 35 years, he retired at the age of 63.
He was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, and a member of the Italian Naturalization Club, and the VFW Post 611.
Besides his wife of Taunton, he leaves a son, Antone R. “Terry” Andrade, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth of Berkley; three daughters, Karen M. Gallagher and her husband David of Whitman, Noella M. Thompson and her husband Tim of Terre Haute, IN, and Lisa A. Andrade and her husband John of Taunton; a brother, Joseph Andrade of Taunton; a sister, Julia Avelino of Taunton; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Monday, March 15th at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Kilmer Ave. at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, from 4 to 7 p.m.
