Obituary

Sylvia (Trotman) Peters 85 of Bellingham and formerly of Rockville, Maryland died March 8 in the Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Westborough.
Born in Princesstown Trinidad, June 19, 1924 the daughter of the late Israel and Isadora (Bostick) Trotman, Mrs. Peters was raised in Trinidad and came to Boston in 1968 where she lived until moving to Maryland in 1982 until last year when she moved to Bellingham.
Mrs. Peters had been an actuarial clerk for the John Hancock Insurance Company. She had previously worked for G Street Fabrics in Washington D.C.
Mrs. Peters was had been a member of the Rockville Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She enjoyed cooking, sewing and interior decorating, when well into her 70’s she took courses in interior decorating and excelled at them.
She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Laureen Peters of Trinidad, Carrie Peters of Franklin and Flora Peters of Bellingham; she was the mother of the late Edward Peters.
She is also survived by her sisters Lucille Leacock and Yvonne Trotman of Trinidad.
She was the sister of the late Pearl Archibald and Ruby Wint.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Allison, Lawrence, Curtis, Justin, Jovan, Sylvia and Aryana and her great-grandchildren, Sierra, Araceli, Lucien, Arianna and Alexavier.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday March 18 in the College Church of Seventh Day Adventist at Atlantic Union College 337 Main St. Lancaster at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will in Union Street Cemetery in Franklin.
Visitation will be on Thursday from Noon - 1:00 p.m. in the Church.
