Maxwell P. Iverson, 86, of Galesburg, passed away at 11:55pm Friday Mar 5, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on Jan 9, 1924 in Detroit, MI the son of Carnot and Esther Piercy Iverson. He married Florence E. Dahlstrom on June 30, 1957 in Chicago. She survives.
Surviving is one daughter Evaleah Graham of Jefferson, ME, two grandsons Erik (Jenny) Graham of Bartlett, IL and Christian (Catherine Farrell) Graham of Los Angeles, CA as well as one brother James (Linda) Iverson of Newport, OR and Lucille Iverson of Camden, ME and one nephew Richard Iverson of Newport, OR
He was an honorably discharged US Navy Veteran serving in WWII. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked for Scientific Data Systems as a sales agent in the Chicago area retiring from the company in 1967. He and his wife were the co-owners of Last Chance Saloon in Macomb for many years before selling the establishment and retiring in 2009.
Cremation Rites have been accorded; a memorial service will be held and announced later in the spring. Memorials may be given in his name to a charity of the donor’s choice. Affordable Funeral & Cremation Services of Central Illinois, Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
