Florence (Raphael) Botelho, 79, of Dartmouth died Wednesday October 8, 2003 at the New Bedford Convalescent Home after a brief illness.She was the wife of the late Gabriel M. Botelho.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Santos) Raphael, she had lived in Dartmouth for most of her life. She was a 1942 graduate of Dartmouth High School.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in South Dartmouth.
Mrs. Botelho was formerly employed as a bookkeeper at Mid-City Auto Parts for several years until her retirement.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Bettencourt, and her husband Roland, of Westport; a brother, Edward Raphael of Waldorf, Maryland; a sister, Alice Flynn of Bishopville, Maryland; a granddaughter, Kathleen Boutilier of New Bedford; and a great-granddaughter, Alexa Boutilier of New Bedford.She was the grandmother of the late Gene A. Botelho, and sister of the late Emily La, Mary Lague, Martin Raphael, Anibal Raphael, Joseph Raphael and Albert Raphael.
