Helen P. (Swistak) Tulloch, 82, of New Bedford died March 7, 2010 at home after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Andrew J. Tulloch.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Theodore and Wanda (Rusek) Swistak, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Tulloch was formerly employed by Pat McKenna's Clothing Store for many years until her retirement.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High School class of 1945 and was later a host parent to exchange student Anna-Carin Andersson of Sweden class of 1976.
Mrs. Tulloch was a member of the New Bedford Country Club. She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, needle point and knitting. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Survivors include a daughter, Cyndi Mikkelson and her husband Brian of Dartmouth; a son, Douglas Tulloch and his wife Maria of Dartmouth; 2 brothers, Walter Swistak of Newport, RI and Ronald Swistak of Fairhaven; 2 sisters, Nathalie Sisson of Ormand Beach, FL and Evelyn Swartzwelder of Pennsylvania; 3 grandchildren, Jacob Tulloch and Collin Tulloch, both of New Bedford and Catherine Mikkelson of Dartmouth; a great-grandson Josiah Tulloch of New Bedford; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Rita Clarke and Norma Baron.
Her family will receive guests on Thursday morning, March 11th from 10 AM - 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford followed by her Funeral Service at 11 AM in the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
