HAVERHILL - Richard C. White 82 died Saturday March 6, 2010 at Lawrence General Hospital surrounded by those he loved.
Born in Haverhill, Richard was the son of Cecil E. and Florence G. (Cotton) White. Educated in Haverhill Richard was a graduate of Boston Trade High School. In 1946 he entered the U.S. Navy where he served during World war II and was honorably discharged in 1947. During the fifties and sixties Mr. White was employed by three of the area’s largest Buick dealerships as their general parts and service manager. In 1970 he became the president of Dick White Buick in Marlboro, MA. In 1977 he sold the dealership and joined the senior management team of Deluca Enterprises of Andover, MA. In 2003 Mr. White retired after 26 years.
Mr. White was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Andover, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Andover. For many years he belonged to the Andover Juniors League.
The widower of the late Rose Ann (Lyons) White, Richard will be deeply missed by his fiancé Carole Pelchat, his 5 children Richard A. White and his wife Linda of Vienna, VA, Kathleen Cooke and her husband Dr. William Cooke of Boston, MA, Susan J. Lawlor and her husband John of Brightwaters, NY, Nanci Sirois and her husband Daniel of Windham, NH, Michael D. White and his wife Kristin of Darien, CT. He will also be missed and live on in their hearts forever by his 9 grandchildren.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 9:00a.m. at St. Augustine’s Church 43 Essex St. Andover, MA. Burial will follow in the Spring Grove Cemetery also in Andover, MA.
