John E. Paananen of Plymouth and formerly of Carver passed away at home on March 6th after a long illness. He was 87 years old. Before retirement John was a teacher at Brockton High School. He was a member of the VFW in Plymouth. John served in the PT’s in the South Pacific during WWII. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, and hunting.
John was the son of the late Arvid and Aino Paananen and is survived by his wife Shirley (O’Connor) Paananen of Plymouth. He was the brother of Ellen Perkins of Plymouth and Barbara Marshall of Norwell. He is also survived by his nephews Robert Johnson, and John and David Marshall. All services are private.
