Obituary

WILLIAM E. “BILL” KIRKHAM, 71, went home to be with his Heavenly Father whom he loved on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.

He was a retired employee for Flexible Materials, a member of Delta Upsilon Fraternity, a former little league coach for Prairie Village, an assistant Boy Scout Master, a member of Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church, and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War where he served in Intelligence Special Forces.

Bill was an avid fisherman, hunter, camper and excellent wood craftsman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Juanita Kirkham.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Barbara “Bobbie” Kirkham; his sons, David Will (Dana) and Ted Kirkham; grandsons, Ryan and Brent Will, and Zachary Kirkham; his sister, Betty Ferren; brother, Phillip Kirkham (Paulette); stepmother, Mary Grace Kirkham; several nieces and nephews; and his special friend, whom he loved like a brother, Rev. P. T. Barnum.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with cremation to follow.

Visitation will be from 12 – 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorial gifts may be made to Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church, 10015 Stonestreet Road, Louisville, KY.
