Polly (Travers) Arruda, age 96 of Somerset passed away March 7, 2010. She was the widow of Alfred V. Arruda and daughter of the late Louis and Adelina (Pimental) Travassos. Born in Fall River, Mrs. Arruda resided in Somerset since 1979 after spending many years in Fall River. She was a retired sewing machine operator at Shelburne Shirt Co. and a parishioner of St. Patrick Church, Somerset.
She is survived by son Michael Arruda and his wife Carol of Somerset and daughter Eleanor Dailey and her husband Gilbert of Rye, NH; grandchildren: Karl & Sharon Arruda, Susan Dailey-Dobes, Steven and Peter Dailey, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Manuel, Louis and Mary Travers, Irene Botelho and Hermina Souza.
Her funeral service will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main Wednesday at 10:30 A.M. preceded by calling hour from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday from 4-8 P.M.
