Mr. Elmer Sanford Tilley, age 73, of Lawsonville, husband of Bertie Donathan Tilley, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center.Mr. Tilley was born in Stokes County on June 20, 1936 to the late Huff and Delia Tilley.Mr. Tilley was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and East Coast Leasing Inc. and was attending Lawsonville Church of God.Mr. Tilley is survived by nine children and their spouses; Ronnie (Dianne) Tilley of Westfield, Timmy (Amanda) Tilley of Lawsonville, Billy Tilley of Lawsonville, Teddy (Carol) Tilley of Lawsonville, Lynn (Allan) Nowak of Apex, NC, Gale (Rocky) Moore of Lawsonville, Joey (Angie) Tilley of Westfield, Crystal (J.H.) Bowman of Lawsonville, and Rebecca (Johnny) Fain of Westfield: 20 grandchildren; Michele (Eric) and Dena (Joey) Mabe, Stacey (Billy), McKenzie, Abby and Ethan Tilley, Bradley and Austin Tilley, Josh (Laura) and Holly (Ron) Nowak, Jessica (Andrew) Bennett, Jared Moore, Corey and Kaitlyn Tilley, Tyler, Jayden, and Addison Bowman, Trinity and Tristan Fain; nine great-grandchildren; Savannah, Corbin, Logan, Lilly, Treyson, Aleah, Haley, Blake, Justin; and one brother William Brady Tilley of Madison.Preceding him in death are his parents; two brothers, Carl Tilley and Zane Tilley; one sister, Grace Arms; and two granddaughters Shawn Tilley and Angel Bowman.Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Asbury Pentecostal Holiness Church at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. Ricky Brewer, Rev. Wesley Flippin, the Rev. Dwayne Lester officiating, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 6-9 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain (www.coxneedham.com) is assisting the Tilley family.
